Elutec Academy Sponsors In The News

Elutec students have been working hard making Visors as part of the PPE for frontline NHS staff, hospice staff and care home workers, whilst our sponsors Ford Motor Company and University College London (UCL) have been extremely busy supporting the NHS using their expert staff and facilities.

Ford is making the equipment as part of the VentilatorChallengeUK consortium - a group bringing together the medical, aerospace and medical sectors to develop new models to support people suffering from breathing difficulties caused by coronavirus.

Local MP, Jon Cruddas recently visited the Ford factory in Dagenham, to show his appreciation and thanks to all those volunteering and working tirelessly, to help the NHS beat coronavirus. Click here to read more.

University College London (UCL) are also developing life-saving breathing aids for the NHS. Mechanical engineers at UCL alongside clinicians at UCLH working with Mercedes-AMG High Performance Powertrains (Mercedes-AMG HPP), have adapted a breathing aid, approved for use in the NHS, that can help keep COVID-19 patients out of intensive care. We are extremely grateful for the hard work our fantastic Sponsors and students have been doing to help during this crisis.
