Students Produce Visors for Healthcare Workers

Moved by the current crisis on Wednesday 29th April and Thursday 30th April four Elutec Academy and Sixth Form students produced visors for healthcare workers to use during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Samuel Humphries and Mantas Kalnietis in year 12 plus William Dow and Eniakin Rufai in year 11 were keen to contribute their time and effort to support the cause and put their skills to good use in the engineering workshop.

The large, outstanding workshop facilities at Elutec allowed the students to work safely and maintain social distancing at all times.

To lift the spirits of those working in the NHS and healthcare sectors the students decided to manufacture the visors in various bright colours.

The recipients of the visors are Whipps Cross Hospital in East London, Saint Francis Hospice in Havering-atte-Bower and Parkside Residential Care Home in Romford.
